“Who’s the black private dick that’s a sex machine to all the chicks?”

Get all up on a trifecta of Shaft! (Shut yo mouf), I’m talkin’ ’bout Shaft. The next generation in the Shaft franchise is here. We bear witness to every iteration of Shaft, the original Richard Roundtree (Shaft 1971), Samuel L. Jackson as John Shaft II (Shaft 2000), and his son John Shaft III played by Jessie Usher.

In this reboot, all three Shafts share the screen together. The two elders are private investigators, while the youngest Shaft didn’t follow the family business and is, in fact, an FBI analyst with cybersecurity expertise. He is however fueled by the need to avenge the death of his best friend.

The movie is super cool (as expected from Shaft!) and action-packed to the gills. The scenes were sharp and well written (Alex Barnow and Kenya Barris) and the directing was well orchestrated by Tim Story.

Shaft! will be available in American cinemas and select streaming services on June 14.
